Stephen R. Buchanan II “Steve”, 74, of Wallace, SC passed away Friday, March 15th, 2024. Stephen is a son of John Benjamin Buchanan and Ethel Curtis Buchanan. He was born August 31st, 1949 in Scotland County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Teresa Avon, David Buchanan, Timothy Andrew “Andy” Buchanan, Lillian McDowell, and Betty Hutchison, and a son John Evert Buchanan. Steve is also preceded in death by his late wife, Diane Malloy Buchanan.
Steve was a Jack of all Trades. He could do practically anything related to fixing up cars. It was a hobby of his that was his absolute pride and joy. Steve was enlisted in the United States Army for several years as a Cook and eventually retired from being a mechanic.
Steve is survived by his son Stephen R. Buchanan III (Sonja); grandchildren Rebecca Buchanan, Landon Buchanan, JR Rushing (Dallas), and Paige Rushing; Great Granddaughter Allie Rose and a sister Johnnie Mae Bass. Several nieces and nephews and Great nieces and nephews. A lifelong friend George Steen.
Family will receive friends for visitation Friday, March 22nd, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet. A memorial service will follow with Terry Jordan officiating.
